Manuscript on paper giving an account of the activities of the Ambassador to the French court at Versailles, Edward Villiers, Earl of Jersey, from his departure for France in August 1698 to his return to England in May 1699. Written by a secretary employed by Villiers, the journal details audiences with Louis XIV and members of the Royal Court. The volume also contains instructions for court ceremonials, written in French.
